The Quiet Power of Presence: Kizzie Garrett on Confidence, Creativity, and Red Carpet Mastery

In an industry obsessed with spectacle, celebrity stylist Kizzie Garrett doesnโ€™t just craft looksโ€”she curates presence. With an intuitive approach to styling that fuses fashion-forward trends with deep emotional awareness, Garrett has become a go-to creative force behind some of the most striking red carpet moments. Her secret? It’s not just about the clothesโ€”itโ€™s about how the person feels in them.

We sat down with Garrett for an exclusive feature in Davinci Magazine, where she gave us a behind-the-scenes look into her world, one stitched together by collaboration, confidence, and a healthy dose of calm in the chaos.

The Power of Personal Style

For Garrett, styling begins with conversation, not clothing.
โ€œItโ€™s a collaborative process,โ€ she shares. โ€œThe journey always starts with an in-depth discussion to really understand a clientโ€™s style, personality, and what they want to project. Itโ€™s about making space for their ideasโ€”and introducing new ones they havenโ€™t considered.โ€

Once the vision is set, Garrett blends her clientโ€™s signature energy with whatโ€™s current. Mood boards become a compass, guiding a look thatโ€™s on-trend but never trend-dependent. โ€œItโ€™s about creating a quiet look that still turns heads. Something that feels elevated and like them.โ€

Red Carpet, Real Pressure

Preparing for a high-profile red carpet appearance involves more than steaming a gown and perfecting a hem. Itโ€™s choreography. โ€œI create a calm, well-paced environment from the jump,โ€ Garrett explains. โ€œThe wardrobe is prepped in advance, the glam team is scheduled, and I always do a final head-to-toe check before the client steps out. Everything has to be flawless.โ€

But if things arenโ€™t flawless? Thatโ€™s where Garrettโ€™s poise really shines.
โ€œStaying calm is key,โ€ she says. โ€œMy emergency kit is always with meโ€”double-sided tape, backup shoes, extra earring backsโ€”you name it. I always come prepared with solutions, not just looks.โ€

Confidence Is the Final Touch

Garrett is quick to remind us that style doesnโ€™t start and stop with the garment. โ€œPeople often forget that the clientโ€™s confidence is everything,โ€ she says. โ€œYou can have the best look in the room, but if the person wearing it doesnโ€™t feel good, it shows. Confidence isnโ€™t just a detailโ€”itโ€™s the whole vibe.โ€

Her presence at events often extends beyond the stylistโ€™s role. โ€œIโ€™ve been a hand to hold, a hype woman, a therapist. Sometimes itโ€™s not about the outfitโ€”itโ€™s about being emotionally available. Thatโ€™s how trust is built.โ€

Building Looks, Building Bridges

Securing designer pieces and coordinating a seamless glam squad isnโ€™t something you can do in a vacuum. Garrett knows the value of strong industry relationships. โ€œIโ€™ve been blessed to partner with designers, boutiques, and PR teams who understand the vision,โ€ she notes. โ€œStyling isnโ€™t a solo act. When the wardrobe, hair, and makeup teams are in sync, thatโ€™s when the magic really happens.โ€

One standout moment for Garrett came during The Fashion Movement 2023, where she styled a dramatic custom look featuring a towering hat, sparkly strands, and sequinned purple boots. The crowd went wild, and she took home first place. โ€œThat moment reminded me of the power of going bold when it feels right,โ€ she recalls.

Starting Where You Stand

To the next generation of aspiring stylists, Garrett offers advice rooted in humility and hustle:
โ€œDonโ€™t wait for New York or L.A. Start in your own backyard,โ€ she says. โ€œHelp friends. Volunteer. Build a portfolio. Itโ€™s about showing up and staying open. Your big break wonโ€™t always come with a spotlightโ€”it may come from a small opportunity you said yes to.โ€

With a career shaped by empathy, precision, and passion, Kizzie Garrett is redefining what it means to style someone for the spotlight. In her world, itโ€™s not just about wearing the look. Itโ€™s about embodying it with confidence, character, and quiet power.
