WashWise and Láyn Redefine Luxury Through Vintage at NYFW

At The Ned NoMad, the two brands brought vintage fashion, garment care and reinvention together during New York Fashion Week.

Amid a Fashion Week built around unveiling what comes next, WashWise and Láyn turned their attention to clothes that have already had a life.

The two brands joined forces at The Ned NoMad on September 10 for a presentation centered on vintage pieces hand-selected by the Láyn team and refreshed with WashWise’s Reset Fabric Refresh Spray.

The collaboration brought together two ideas that increasingly overlap in fashion: reinvention and longevity. For this presentation, elevated streetwear brand Láyn worked with hand-selected vintage garments, while WashWise’s Reset Spray was used to refresh the pieces between wears. Together, the brands used the show to explore a broader idea around extending the life and relevance of clothing through care, styling and reinvention.

Founders Maria Cabral Menezes and Layni Chamberlain welcomed a Fashion Week crowd that included Gigi Paris, Bailee Henderson, Briel Adams-Wheatley, Bruna Petrillo, Trinity Marie and Zach Pozniak, alongside influencers, creatives and industry guests. Glamsquad provided makeup for the presentation, and guests continued the evening afterward at Ned’s Club New York.

The idea feels especially current at a moment when vintage has moved beyond its old reputation as simply an alternative to buying new. Rarity, provenance and individuality have become part of the appeal, giving existing garments a different kind of value.

As DaVinci has explored elsewhere, Fashion Week has increasingly become more than a runway calendar, expanding into a broader ecosystem of brand experiences, cultural gatherings and hospitality. That shift has changed how brands use Fashion Week to communicate identity and values beyond the clothes themselves.

WashWise added garment care to that equation.

Throughout the styling and preparation process, the brand’s Reset Fabric Refresh Spray was used on the vintage garments featured in the presentation, placing the product directly inside the fashion experience.

The collaboration also reflected a broader change in how vintage is being positioned. Once treated primarily as an alternative to new fashion, vintage now carries its own sense of desirability through scarcity, provenance and individuality. For a younger generation of consumers, the appeal is often not simply that a piece is old, but that it has a story, a history and a character that cannot be easily replicated.

That makes care part of the equation.

If a garment is worth preserving, maintaining its appearance and extending its useful life becomes part of the value proposition itself. In that context, WashWise’s role in the presentation felt less like a backstage utility and more like an extension of the evening’s central idea.

For Láyn, the presentation offered an opportunity to bring its elevated streetwear perspective to vintage garments and give them new relevance. For WashWise, the collaboration offered a natural opportunity to show how fabric care can support that same philosophy.

Together, the brands presented a version of luxury that is less dependent on constant replacement and more interested in what can be preserved, refreshed and worn again.

At The Ned NoMad, the message was simple: luxury does not always have to begin with something new. Sometimes the value is already there.
