As New York Fashion Week prepares to bring the fashion world back to Manhattan this September, one international showcase is looking beyond the traditional runway.
Unique Fashion Show New York 2026 will take over the historic Park Avenue Christian Church on September 13, bringing together international designers, artists, sustainability advocates, fashion professionals and creative leaders for a multidisciplinary celebration of fashion and culture.
Presented by the Unique Fashion Foundation Association of France, the event is expected to welcome more than 600 guests spanning fashion, business, art, technology, media, education and diplomatic communities.
At the center of the experience will be runway presentations from nine international designers, but the program extends far beyond the catwalk. Guests can expect a designer showroom, conversations surrounding sustainability, digital and visual art experiences, live performances, awards and opportunities for professional networking.
The concept reflects a growing movement within fashion toward creating experiences that connect creativity with commerce, culture and conversation.
A Global Runway Comes to New York
The September showcase will introduce New York audiences to designers bringing distinctly different cultural identities and approaches to contemporary fashion.
French luxury lingerie house THE AUDACE PARIS, founded by Sarah Khorchid El Kerdi, will present its jewelry-inspired interpretation of couture craftsmanship and modern femininity.
Kazakhstan will have a significant presence within the program. Volskaya Atelier will showcase a youth-focused collection built around freedom, confidence and individuality, while TURSUNKULOV, founded by Timur Tursunkulov, will reinterpret traditional Kazakh ornamentation and craftsmanship through contemporary haute couture.
Designer Raushan Anuarbekova will take another approach to Kazakh heritage, drawing inspiration from the grandmother as a representation of elegance, wisdom and enduring grace.
From Germany, Lady Suits by Emmely Roloff will bring an architectural perspective to women’s tailoring through sculptural silhouettes, technical construction and an emphasis on sustainable craftsmanship.
United States-based ARA Art and Design Studio, founded by Sanaz Masoumi, will explore the intersection of textile artistry, sculptural design and cultural storytelling through handcrafted techniques and experimental materials.
Tajikistan Fashion Week, founded by Tokhir Ibragimov, will also participate, presenting Tajik designer Mahin Olimzoda and her contemporary interpretation of traditional cultural influences.
The complete nine-designer lineup is expected to be revealed as part of the official event program.
Turning Runway Exposure Into Opportunity
One of the more interesting elements of Unique Fashion Show is what happens beyond the runway.
An international B2B and B2C showroom will give participating designers an opportunity to connect directly with buyers, retailers, investors, journalists, fashion professionals and consumers.
Rather than treating a runway appearance as the final destination, the platform is designed to help translate visibility into potential retail relationships, international representation, editorial opportunities and creative partnerships.
That international exchange has become an important part of Unique Fashion Show’s identity as it connects emerging and established creative communities across Europe, North America, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Sustainability Takes Center Stage
Fashion’s environmental future will also be part of the conversation.
The New York program will include discussions centered on responsible production, circular fashion, material innovation and practical ways independent designers can incorporate sustainability into their businesses.
The event will also mark the opening of the 2026 International Sustainable Fashion Contest, organized in partnership with Sustainable Fashion Week US and Inside Fashion Design USA.
The international competition aims to identify and support designers contributing to the future of responsible fashion. Winners are scheduled to be announced during Milan Fashion Week in 2027.
It is an important addition to a Fashion Week calendar where sustainability is increasingly moving from a talking point to a question of how brands actually design, manufacture and operate.
Where Fashion Meets Art and Technology
Unique Fashion Show will also explore fashion’s rapidly evolving relationship with technology.
Its Fashion and Digital Experience will examine the influence of artificial intelligence, digital creativity, interactive media and visual art on the industry, bringing another dimension to a program already built around the intersection of disciplines.
Art will become part of the live experience as well.
Internationally recognized Los Angeles-based artist Robert Vargas is scheduled to deliver a live artistic performance, while New York City Opera will present a special performance connecting classical expression with the contemporary fashion environment.
The work of figurative artist Lilit Gevorgyan will also be presented. Exhibiting internationally since 2004, Gevorgyan’s work explores ideas surrounding hope, dignity, compassion and renewal through the human figure, movement, light, color and nature.
The evening’s programming will continue with the Unique Fashion Show International Model Awards, recognizing professional achievement in international modeling, alongside the Art Estate International Awards Ceremony, honoring contributions across fashion, art, creativity, innovation and culture.
Building an International Fashion Community
Unique Fashion Show arrives in New York following nine editions across Europe and the United States.
Founded by Gita Dzhavid, Unique Fashion Show and the Unique Fashion Foundation Association have developed the platform around creating international visibility and professional development opportunities for designers, artists and creative organizations, particularly around major fashion periods in New York, Milan and Paris.
Its September return places that mission in the middle of one of the industry’s busiest weeks.
For audiences, it offers an opportunity to discover designers and creative voices from markets that may not always receive significant visibility on the traditional New York Fashion Week calendar.
For participating creatives, the potential extends beyond a single evening in Manhattan. The connections made between designers, buyers, artists, educators, investors, media and cultural organizations could become the beginning of collaborations that continue well after the final runway look.
Unique Fashion Show New York 2026 takes place September 13, 2026, at Park Avenue Christian Church, 1010 Park Avenue in Manhattan.
