Paws & Pose Takes Over Kiki on the River for a Stylish National Dog Day Celebration

Miami’s best-dressed guests had a little extra competition this weekend, and some of them arrived on four legs.

In celebration of National Dog Day, Kiki on the River brought together fashion, brunch, entertainment and a love for animals with Fashion Paw-ty: Paws & Pose, held August 29. The waterfront destination transformed its signature Saturday brunch into a playful celebration where stylish pups were every bit as much a part of the scene as their owners.

The afternoon centered around a puppy runway fashion competition, giving Miami’s fashionable four-legged personalities a chance to take the spotlight. With celebrity judges, prizes and plenty of personality making its way down the runway, Paws & Pose offered a distinctly Miami interpretation of National Dog Day.

When the Runway Goes to the Dogs

Fashion was at the heart of the celebration.

Guests and their pups gathered for an afternoon that blended the energy of Kiki on the River’s well-known brunch atmosphere with the charm of a pet-focused fashion event. A live DJ and entertainment kept the party moving while the runway competition provided the afternoon’s main attraction.

The fashion moment extended beyond the runway with an exclusive Pup-Up Boutique featuring luxury pet apparel and accessories from Allysa Payne Beverly Hills. The collection gave guests another opportunity to indulge their pets while embracing the increasingly fashionable world of luxury pet style.

And because no Miami fashion event is complete without a photo moment, Paws & Pose offered plenty.

Guests could capture memories throughout the venue, while a live portrait artist spent the first two hours creating custom keepsake portraits, turning pups into works of art their owners could take home.

Brunch With a Purpose

Beyond the fashion and festivities, Paws & Pose incorporated a charitable component into the celebration.

The event’s $99 Paw-Ty Pass included reserved seating for the fashion show, a signature brunch entrée and the choice of a Signature Barkarita or glass of rosé. More importantly, 25 percent of proceeds from every Paw-Ty Pass sold was designated for donation to a local dog rescue organization.

It added a meaningful layer to an afternoon built around celebrating the relationship people have with their pets. Guests were able to enjoy the spectacle while helping support dogs still waiting to find homes and families of their own.

A Very Miami National Dog Day

National Dog Day celebrations can take many forms, but Kiki on the River leaned into what Miami does particularly well: fashion, food, music and a reason to dress up.

Paws & Pose brought all four together while making room for a cause that extended beyond the party itself. Between designer pet fashion, runway personalities, waterfront brunch and custom portraits, the event turned a traditional Saturday afternoon at Kiki into something decidedly more playful.

For one afternoon, the models weren’t the only ones working the runway.

The pups came ready to pose, too.
