Pop artist Laura Pieri is once again redefining how heartbreak sounds. Today, she returns with “Sea of Tragedy (On The Dancefloor),” a dancefloor-ready, high-energy remix of her fan-favorite track from the 2024 Frankie EP. The release follows her recent single, “Flown Away,” and offers a glimpse into Frankie On The Dancefloor, the expanded version of Frankie set for release this summer.
From Heartache to Hypnotic Beats
Produced by Skyler Cocco and YXSH, this remix dives deeper into Pieri’s signature sound. The track pulses with shimmering synths, rhythmic beats, and hooks made for catharsis. Yet, where the original version simmered in heartbreak, this new version transforms pain into something kinetic and powerful.
“‘Sea of Tragedy’ is one of those songs that started in heartbreak and disillusion,” Pieri says. “But in this version, she has glitter on her cheeks. She may still be crying, but now she’s doing it in the club. That’s the beauty of pop music—it turns sadness into movement.”

The Chaos of Post-Breakup Nights
This remix captures the whirlwind emotions that often follow a breakup. Pieri calls it the sonic version of a chaotic night out.
“If Flown Away was the montage of the breakup, this is the messy night right after,” she explains. “It’s sad, sparkly, and a little unhinged—but in the best way possible. She’s tragedy, but make it hot.”
A Brazilian Heartbeat Meets Pop Stardom
Born in São Paulo, Pieri now splits her time between New York and Los Angeles. She balances the demands of an MBA program during the day with the high-octane world of pop music at night. Her sound blends polished pop production with the rhythmic heartbeat of her Brazilian roots, creating music that moves people emotionally and on the dancefloor.
A New Era with Frankie On The Dancefloor
Pieri’s 2024 Frankie EP marked a turning point in her career. Paired with a powerful short film, the project told the story of a woman reclaiming her voice and power. It was co-written by an all-female team and executive produced by Skyler Cocco, showcasing Pieri’s commitment to creative control.
For Pieri, Frankie was more than just an EP—it was a rebirth. She had considered walking away from music entirely. Instead, she chose to come back stronger, more fearless, and more in control.
Now, with Frankie On The Dancefloor on the horizon, Pieri is stepping fully into her power. She’s taking heartbreak, putting it on the dancefloor, and proving that even in the messiest moments, you can still dance.
