Passages, an art exhibit by Whitfield Lovell at the Boca Raton Museum of Art, opened its doors to an exclusive night for Members and VIP media guests on Valentine’s Day night night. The exhibit, which showcases Lovell’s stunning collection of charcoal and mixed media portraits, honors the memory of his subjects as well as their suffering and perseverance.
As guests arrived, they were welcomed by a beautiful display of Lovell’s work, each piece telling a unique story of the people it represents. The atmosphere was electric, with live music and excited chatter filling the gallery as guests eagerly made their way through the exhibit.
The portraits, which were done on salvaged wood and paired with found objects, had a powerful effect on everyone in attendance. Each work of art captured the essence of the person it represented, as if the subject was still with us, speaking to us through the art.
The theme of the exhibit, the passage of time and the memories that we leave behind, was prevalent in every piece. Lovell’s work explored the idea that our lives are marked by memories, and that the memories we leave behind are what define us.
The night was not only a celebration of Lovell’s work but also of the people who attended. Great people, great food, and great drinks surrounded the works of art, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
In all, Passages was a beautiful and moving exhibit that touched the hearts of everyone who attended. Lovell’s work will leave a lasting impression on all who see it and will be remembered for years to come.
