How to Prepare for the Cannes Film Festival: Actress & Producer Kavita Channe Shares Her Insider Rituals

The Cannes Film Festival isn’t just a red carpet moment—it’s a world stage for cinema, fashion, and intentional presence. For actress and producer Kavita Channe, attending the prestigious event goes far beyond finding the perfect dress or highlighter glow. It begins weeks before she steps onto French Riviera soil, with mental, emotional, and physical preparation that turns every moment into a mindful celebration.

“Cannes is so much more than just glam—it’s a high-frequency experience,” Channe explains. “While the outfits and prep are fun, my focus always starts from within.”

Founded in 1946, the Cannes Film Festival (Festival de Cannes) began as a post-war cultural initiative to rival the Venice Film Festival and celebrate international filmmaking. Over time, it has become one of the most glamorous and globally respected events in the industry, known for premiering artistic masterpieces and drawing elite celebrities, directors, and tastemakers to the shores of Southern France each May.

So, how does a modern multi-hyphenate like Kavita Channe prepare for Cannes?

Mindful Preparation Starts from Within

Kavita begins by grounding herself mentally with visualization exercises. She imagines how she wants to feel, the energy she’ll radiate, and the presence she’ll bring into every room. That visualization becomes her compass for the week.

Emotionally, she intentionally makes space to stay present—building in quiet time before big events, avoiding overcommitment, and reminding herself that Cannes is ultimately a celebration of creativity and connection.

Physically, her preparation is precise and rooted in wellness. Her daily routine includes lemon water, high-performance supplements like glutathione and NAD+, and a supercharged power shake. Leading up to the trip, she amps up strength training, cardio, lymphatic drainage massages, and facials, ensuring her skin and stamina are runway-ready.

Biohacking Meets Beauty

Before boarding her international flight, Kavita gets an IV drip packed with vitamin C, B-complex, amino acids, and glutathione to boost her immunity and brighten her skin. On the plane, she skips makeup, wears compression garments, and stays hydrated, choosing wellness over indulgence to arrive aligned.

“By the time I land in Cannes, I’m not just ready—I’m fully aligned.”

Once on the ground, the glam doesn’t stop with fashion. Kavita collaborates with local beauty pros like Monaco-based makeup artist Alina Romanova, who offers a grounded and elegant approach to red carpet glam.

Fashion as Storytelling

For Kavita, every look tells a story. This year, she wore pieces by Maribel JD, a Peruvian designer based in California, known for gowns that celebrate movement, culture, and emotion.

“We collaborated closely—shipping looks across the country—to get every detail just right,” she says. “Supporting designers who lead with heart is a priority for me.”

She also debuted a Missoni dress she bought in Portofino back in 2019—saved for a meaningful moment after becoming a mother.

Jewelry choices are just as intentional. Swarovski’s iconic sparkle and custom designs by Jason of Beverly Hills added bold, meaningful energy to each ensemble.

The Power of Logistics and Rituals

Cannes style takes months of planning. Kavita begins fittings and creative conversations two months in advance. Final looks are tested before her flight, complete with full glam and accessories.

Traveling with couture requires strategy: vacuum-sealed garment bags, tissue paper, AirTags, and coordination with hotels for steamers and racks. “Hotel Martinez was amazing,” she recalls. “They even sourced undergarments for one of my gowns last-minute.”

Wellness doesn’t stop at arrival. Kavita continued her lymphatic massages every other day during the festival—a ritual that helped her manage long hours and keep her face, feet, and posture refreshed.

Advice for First-Timers at Cannes

When asked what advice she’d give to Cannes newcomers, Kavita says:

“Show up as the most elevated version of yourself—not a version of someone else. Wear what empowers you, not just what’s trending. Presence comes from energy, not logos.”

She also reminds first-timers to prepare transportation, pack extra looks, and never underestimate comfortable shoes.

Balancing Glamour with Purpose

Despite the flashbulbs and fashion, Cannes remains, at its core, a celebration of cinema and storytelling—something Kavita Channe holds close.

“Cannes represents everything I love: film, storytelling, fashion, and connection. When you approach the week with intention, balance comes naturally.”

For those dreaming of the Croisette, Kavita’s holistic approach is a powerful reminder: the best accessory is authenticity, and preparation is the foundation for presence.
