The title ISLA TRANQUILITA, which translates to “little island of peace,” is rooted in memory and family. The project serves as a tribute to her late great aunt Teresa, a Cuban émigré who became a calming presence throughout CASANDRA’s childhood in Miami. Whenever life became overwhelming, Teresa would softly remind her to stay “tranquilita,” a simple phrase that evolved into a lifelong emotional anchor.
That sense of comfort echoes throughout the EP.
Blending alt-pop, R&B, and atmospheric electronic production, ISLA TRANQUILITA creates a lush and cinematic listening experience that feels both intimate and escapist. “It was sudden,” she explains. “I began creating from a place that felt like home, after all these years I had been building it inside of me, now it’s finally ready.”
